Bethesda, Md., (October 29, 2013) – The Suburban Hospital Stroke Program has received the 2013 Get With The Guidelines Stroke Silver Plus Achievement Award from the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association.
The award recognizes the hospital for achieving at least 12 consecutive months of 85 percent or higher adherence to all Get With The Guidelines® Stroke Achievement indicators and at least 12 consecutive months of 75% or higher compliance with five or more Get With The Guidelines® Stroke Quality indicators to improve quality of patient care and outcomes.
“Being honored for giving excellent patient care is the best recognition a hospital can get,” said Zurab Nadareishvili, M.D., PhD, medical director for the Suburban Hospital Stroke Program. “But our greatest reward is serving our patients, which is why we’re committed to turning treatment guidelines into lifelines.”
Since its inception in late 1999, the NIH Stroke Center at Suburban Hospital – the cornerstone of the Suburban Hospital Stroke Program – has been dedicated to researching the most effective ways to diagnose and treat stroke using new technologies and drugs. With physician-scientists from NIH working side-by-side with Suburban Hospital clinicians, the Suburban Hospital Stroke Program assures access to the most advanced medical protocols and cutting-edge technology.
