Dr. Jacobson's distinguished career includes 30 years of neurosurgery practice in the Bethesda and Washington D.C. area with his practice encompassing both cranial and spinal problems. He has a special interest in skull base tumors, especially acoustic neuromas, as well as cervical arthroplasty, cervical spinal trauma management and spinal reconstruction.

Shih-Chun (David) Lin, M.D., Ph.D.

Assistant Professor of Neurosurgery

Dr. David Lin offers general neurosurgical care to patients with brain or spine diseases. His clinical interests include neurosurgical treatment for primary and metastatic brain and spinal tumors, degenerative spinal disorders, trauma, cerebrovascular disease, and epilepsy, using surgical techniques ranging from minimally invasive surgeries to complex spinal instrumentation.

Through his research, Dr. Lin seeks to advance the field of neurosurgery by using the latest technology, such as optogenetics, to investigate mechanisms behind epilepsy control and glial cell reaction to pathologic conditions.

Quoc-Anh Thai, M.D., FAANS, FACS
Assistant Professor of Neurosurgery
Division Chief of Hopkins Neurosurgery – National Capital Region

Dr. Quoc-Anh Thai treats patients with diseases involving the brain and spine. He focuses on treatments of the degenerative spine including neck and back pain, disc herniations, and stenosis that may require surgery using minimally-invasive techniques as well as traditional open procedures. Dr. Thai performs surgery for primary and metastatic brain tumors using computer-assisted neuronavigation. He also evaluates and treats patients on an outpatient basis for issues such as carpal tunnel syndromes and compression fractures.

Dr. Thai has conducted research in the field of cerebrovascular diseases, including aneurysms and stroke, using polymer-based drug delivery systems. He has been published in peer-reviewed scientific journals as well as book chapters. His work has been presented at international neurosurgery meetings.
