
The Montgomery County Thrift Shop is a partnership of five non-profit, voluntary agencies, including Suburban Hospital Auxiliary. The proceeds are used to further health, welfare, and education programs in Montgomery County. The shop is located at 7125 Wisconsin Avenue in Bethesda and open from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Saturday, and from noon to 4 p.m. on Sunday. The Auxiliary of Suburban Hospital operates at the Montgomery County Thrift Shop on Tuesdays. The Suburban Hospital Auxiliary has used the proceeds for nursing scholoarships, patient education efforts, and various health initiatives.
The Thrift Store takes donations of usable household items and clothing in good condition. Items are accepted Wednesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. by appointment only.
Tuesday is the Montgomery County Thrift Shop Consignment Day. From 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., articles will be available for consignment by appointment only. Appointments can be made on Tuesday by phone starting at 9 a.m. Please call 301.654.0063.
Accepted items include lamps, antiques, bric-a-brac, mirrors, small furniture, pictures, linens, jewelry, china, silverware, and glassware. Only ten items are accepted at one time, if space permits. Each item will be worth a minimum of $8 and is kept for up to six weeks. A small service fee is required; 65% of each item's sale price goes to the consignor. Checks are issued once a month and may be picked up at the shop on the third and fourth Tuesday of the following month or sent to the consignor. We are not responsible for loss or damage.
