Located within Suburban Hospital, our Behavioral Outpatient Mental Health Services program offers a comprehensive clinical continuum to provide the least restrictive, most effective level of care to individuals and their families. Our goals are to support a successful discharge from inpatient status or to avert hospitalization by providing intensive outpatient programming. These services are intended to complement concurrent individual therapy. Clients need to be referred by a provider, and Emergency Department, or an inpatient unit.
Clients appropriate for these programs are 18 years and older, have a DSM-IV diagnosis, are under the care of a psychiatrist, and are able to participate in group therapy. Dual diagnosis clients are also accepted. These programs provide psychological education, symptom management, supportive group therapy, expressive therapy, and medication education.
The Partial Hospital Program and the Intensive Outpatient Program meet Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Lunch is provided. These programs are accredited and accept most insurance plans including Medicare and MA.
This support group serves individuals suffering from depression or other mental health diagnoses. The group meets every Monday from 5:45 to 7:15 p.m. This group accepts Medicare, Medicaid and commercial insurance.
Support and Family Education (SAFE) — This group is for families who have a member or significant other hospitalized in the Behavioral Health unit or enrolled in the Day Treatment Program (PHP or IOP). The groups meets every Wednesday from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Day Treatment area (7th floor). There is a co-payment required for this group.
