Located at convenient sites in Montgomery County, the Outpatient Addiction Treatment Program offers a broad range of addiction (i.e., alcohol and/or substance abuse) services for adolescents and adults, including:

  • Intensive Outpatient Program,
  • Structured Outpatient Programs,
  • DUI-Alcohol Education Programs,
  • At-Risk Programs for Adolescents, and
  • Evaluation Services n Inpatient Detoxification.

Intensive Outpatient Program

This program is designed to provide an intensive outpatient treatment experience for persons addicted to alcohol and other drugs. The program meets 3 to 5 times/week, Monday through Friday for three hours. The program is structured to help patients maintain abstinence, learn about the addictive disease process, utilize 12-step recovery resources and tools, develop new abstinence-based skills and behaviors, and establish an effective program of recovery. Family members and/or significant others are involved in a family program.

Structured Outpatient Programs

This program is similar to the Intensive Outpatient Program but designed to provide the same services in a less intensive manner over a longer period of time. Patients are scheduled for 1- or 2-hour sessions, one to two sessions per week. Group topics include recovery skills and relapse prevention. Family members and significant others can participate in a family program.

DUI Program

Suburban Hospital has a comprehensive DUI Service (Driving While Under the Influence) offering timely assessments and flexible education sessions. Saturday groups are available. We will also provide court-ready summary reports at no additional cost.

At Risk Programs

At Risk programs provide counseling, education and guidance for adolescents and their families who may be experiencing stressors such as school disciplinary actions, failing grades, evidence of alcohol and other drug use, the beginnings of legal problems, etc. The family program is provided by a family counselor with addiction expertise.

Evaluation Services

Our staff is committed to making the evaluation process comfortable and educational for all involved. Evaluations are conducted by our clinical staff taking a complete bio-psychosocial history that becomes a primary tool in formulating an individualized plan of treatment. The evaluation data provides the basis for diagnosis and prognosis of the addictive disease. The evaluation also frequently includes information-gathering with the client's family, significant other and/or employer/school. The evaluation requires from 1 to 2 hours. Individual counseling and drug screening are also available.
