Suburban Hospital's commitment to
Supporting Caregivers is based on the
recognition that health care is ultimately about people taking care of people a bedrock principle that sets the
standard to ensure that our facility is always staffed with the most highly qualified and compassionate caregivers.
Over the past year, generous funding not
only provided significant opportunities
for continuing medical education and
individual scholarships, but also allowed
the hospital to better embrace the
philosophy of Patient and Family
Centered Care and support the timehonored
tradition of nursing. A newly
established structure of nursing practice
councils has effectively elevated the level
of professional excellence, reinforced the
dedication to superior patient care, and
assured shared decision making in the
application of evidence-based best practices. Nurses are guided by an
innovative nursing practice model founded
on six core concepts putting patients first, education, respect, collaboration, compassion, and assuring a
professional practice environment.
In recognition of National Doctors' Day,
Suburban also welcomed contributions from a
record number of community members honoring
nearly 330 physicians. These gifts help provide
the tools the physicians need to continue making
a difference in the community.
