Fighting Cancer with Golf and Fashion
During the fall of 2009, hundreds of individuals from throughout the community joined the fight against cancer by participating in Suburban Hospital's 24th Annual Auxiliary Golf Tournament
at Woodmont Country Club and the 11th Annual Key to the Cure
shopping weekend kickoff at Saks Fifth Avenue. Together, the two events raised nearly $260,000
for cancer care programs at Suburban Hospital. Over the past several years, Suburban Hospital has strengthened its commitment to assuring a multidisciplinary approach to cancer care, with donor-supported funds providing oncology nurse navigators to help patients and families manage the complexity of care, as well as advanced technology and specialized programming to improve patient outcomes and quality of life. Commitments from regional research consortiums are enhancing Suburban's ability to provide the promise of brighter futures to individuals living with cancer.
Health and Wellness for Key Partners
In 2009, the Suburban Hospital Foundation hosted a special wellness event as a small token of appreciation for the huge impact that our donors have on our community. Donors received complimentary health screenings, flu shots, massages, and more.
Commitment to Excellence
Potomac resident Tom Natelli’s long history of commitment and service to both Suburban
Hospital and the community made him an obvious choice for the prestigious Commitment
to Excellence Award. Presented at Suburban Hospital’s 23rd Annual Chairmen’s Celebration Dinner, the annual award is designed to recognize individuals who demonstrate ongoing dedication to improving quality of life for the people Suburban Hospital serves. Mr. Natelli (right in photo, pictured with family) is a former chairman of the Suburban Hospital Healthcare System board of trustees and current president/CEO of Natelli Communities, a leading real estate development firm. He is also active in various other business ventures and charitable organizations throughout the region.
