Visiting Hours

Suburban Hospital recognizes the importance of family and friends during an illness and each patient care unit strives to provide flexible opportunities for visitors to be with patients. General visiting hours are 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Visiting hours may vary according to a patient’s specific condition, treatment, or location within the hospital. (i.e., ICU, Behavioral Health). Please see the nursing staff for details.

Children under the age of 12 may be permitted to visit patients through special arrangement with the nurse in charge of the patient’s care. For the comfort of patients and visitors, lounges and waiting areas with tables, magazines, and televisions are conveniently located throughout the hospital.

Guidelines for Visitors

  • Visitors must be in good health and should wash hands before visiting a patient.
  • Check for infection control/isolation signs on the patient’s door.
  • Only two visitors should be in the patient’s room at one time.
  • Keep visits short; patients need rest.
  • Ensure patient privacy; please leave the room during examinations, treatments, or consultations with healthcare staff.
  • Avoid wearing strong perfumes or fragrances.
  • Closely supervise children who are visiting.
  • Use public restrooms rather than the patient’s bathroom.
