Events Include Medical Symposium and Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony
(Bethesda, MD, September 14, 2006) – Suburban Hospital, the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI) of the National Institutes of Health, and Johns Hopkins Medicine will hold the official opening of the NIH Heart Center at Suburban Hospital on Friday, September 29, 2006.
The Heart Center brings the clinical and scientific excellence of two renowned medical institutions to a community-based cardiac program. Through this historic collaboration, Suburban Hospital can provide advanced cardiovascular treatments available in only a handful of medical centers.
All events will be held on Friday, September 29 at Suburban Hospital, 8600 Old Georgetown Road, Bethesda, MD 20814.

The Mark F. Weinstein Memorial Lecture Series
Following his untimely death from cancer in 1990, the partners, family, and friends of Mark F. Weinstein, MD, established an endowed lecture fund at Suburban Hospital in his memory. The annual lecture series brings the latest information on heart disease, treatment, and prevention to physicians in the metropolitan Washington area. We are pleased to dedicate today’s symposium in memory of Dr. Weinstein, a highly respected cardiologist at Suburban Hospital who strived to attain excellence throughout his career.
