Suburban Hospital's Cancer Care is dedicated to preventing, diagnosing, and treating cancer for residents in the Washington metropolitan region. In partnership with community physicians, staff, other healthcare providers, and research affiliates, the Cancer Program provides a comprehensive range of high quality, compassionate, and cost-effective services, including health education, screening, clinical research, diagnosis, treatment, psychosocial support, and palliative care.

Through our affiliation with the Bethesda-based National Cancer Institute, Suburban Hospital has developed a unique program that provides our patients with access to extraordinary treatment options and clinical research trials. Our many centers of care provide an integrated response to the illness, applying sophisticated radiation therapy technology, infusion chemotherapy, and leading-edge imaging such as PET scanning. Our program addresses all forms of cancer, with the emphasis on the major adult solid malignancies: breast, colon, lung, and prostate.

We realize you have a choice in where you go for healthcare, and we strive to be your preferred hospital, right here in your neighborhood. We offer the following invaluable services to those in need of compassionate, specialized care:

• Multidisciplinary programs specializing in Breast diagnosis and treatment;

• In-patient oncology services at Suburban Hospital;

• State-of-the-art radiation oncology technology (including IMRT), with onsite physicist;

• Outpatient infusion center with on-site certified pharmacist;

• An NRH/Suburban Regional Rehab facility at the Suburban Outpatient Medical Center (SOMC);

• Suburban Endoscopy Center;

• Surgical Center in an outpatient facility with convenient parking;

• Partnership with National Institutes of Health, implementing clinical trials for eligible cancer patients;
